Reservations and Cancellations:
Please call in your MC or Visa numbers within 72 hours of your online reservation.
- We charge a $35 non-refundable processing fee at time of registration. It is applied to the first day charge of your pets stay with us.
- Pet owners may pay the balance of their stay by debit or credit card at the time of your pet’s arrival.
Cancellations:
We need a one week notice for all cancellations. If we do not receive adequate notice your card will be charged for the full time booked up to a maximum of 7 days. If you have an uncontrollable dilemma that created the cancellation we will charge your card but you will receive a credit for future use. We do this to stop persons who cancel last minute to have a friend or family member take care of a pet. Those who do that will be recorded in our records and future reservations may be declined.
Arrival and Departures:
Daily Public Hours Monday to Saturday are 9 to 11 am (closed Sunday mornings).
We are a cage-free pet resort and pets need time to acclimatize with their new canine buddies and their safe fenced surroundings and lodgings. They need to arrive as early as possible in the day for their personal happiness and the happiness of other dogs in the facility. Our check in times is earlier than most because we have pets' best interests in mind, and our dog parks are very large. We need to be sure pets are comfortable
Need to arrive a bit later?:
By appointment we can stretch the 11 am until as late as 1 pm (currently for the cost of Tim Horton’s coffee, cream, no sugar). There are lots of wonderful things to do in Huntsville and most resorts will allow you to come in earlier and enjoy their facilities.
By appointment pets can be picked up between 4 and 6 pm.
Our later time is for pick ups rather than drop offs and those who require us to accept their pets during this time should arrive at 4 pm. There may be an extra charge for arriving late to compensate for extra care that is necessary to make your pets stay comfortable. Some pets may have to stay in the caretakers’ residence the first night for an extra $20 charge.
Sundays:
No one answers the telephone Sunday mornings. By appointment on Sundays we can do check outs between 12 noon to 1 pm or 4 to 6 pm. All pets in the resort pay for their Sunday stay.
Why we want pets to arrive early:
We need to be sure pets are adjusting and coming in and out the lodgings and fitting in so they will be relaxed come night fall. Later pets feel like the last dog picked for the school team and often cry which disturbs the dogs that want to rest after their long day of play. Later arrivals also disturb the dogs that were relaxed thinking they were spending the night as they immediately think it their owner coming for them.
All pets must arrive and depart with a properly fitted collar, halter, or harness and leash, or in a secure pet carrier.
- Insurance requires no pets arrive or depart off-leash in public areas.
- We have free range laying hens kicking up their turf making healthy happy eggs. Fresh eggs $4.50 a dozen or $10 for a flat of 30 eggs.
Bring proof of current vaccinations or veterinary (teeter) proof of immunity: against rabies, combination series vaccines, and bordetella (kennel cough).
- We will accept the following: Veterinary receipts, health declarations and/or health cards, immunity teeter counts and/or verbal confirmation from Veterinary hospital.
- Last minute vaccinations are okay as Veterinary regulation requires all pets are examined prior to all vaccinations and would not vaccinate your pet if he or she were sick.
- Important to Note: Tags are not proof.
- For those who forget to bring along their proof and we are unable to speak with the veterinarian clinic (i.e. closed weekends and holidays) pets will be segregated from the general population for an additional $25 per day.
Bring Pet’s Regular Food & Treats
- Please do not bring dishes, measuring cups or returnable containers.
- Pre-pack just enough food with maybe a day or so extra that you do not want to have returned.
- Best way to bring pets food is in $1 recyclable shopping bags with their name, breed or mix, meal size and frequency written clearly in marker on the top inside lip.
- For example: Max, G. Retriever, 2 cups, 2 x/day
- It’s effective to include a card with the same written on it to mark his prepared food prior to serving him.
Do not include medication in pet’s food as this is dangerous.
We need to have all medication clearly marked and administrate it ourselves and there is a charge for that service. Do not put it in your pet’s food.
Raw food, refrigerated or special preparation meals are $2 per meal extra.
Please do not bring the Sunday Best (bedding, pet coat, favourite toy) Bring the old & tattered so you won't be upset if it doesn't return.
- Dogs treat stuffed things like Piñatas and can’t resist spreading their stuffing around knee-deep in their version of pillow fighting sleepovers.
Bathing for Pick-Up:
A good idea....while we are free of “that" conventional kennel smell; our guests are pumped up on doggie pheromones, swim, frog hunting, and play with dogs who do the same which results in a real dog smell noticeable to those who prefer a more coiffure dog smell.
- Let us know in plenty of time if you require your dog groomed and/or bathed prior to his or her departure.
- If you would like to use our elevated bathtub during our public hours you may bring pet shampoo & towels and bath your own pet at no charge.
